Leading UK pork pie manufacturer, Pork Farms, has teamed up with the body behind Britain’s Micropub movement, the Micropub Association, to launch the National Board Games Championships.
Consumers were challenged to host their own board games evenings at home and submit photos or videos to be in with the chance to win a year’s supply of Pork Farm’s pork pies.
Pork Farms, owned by the Addo Food Group, will celebrate the nation’s favourite pastime with the launch of a round of heats at over 40 Micropubs across the country. The competition will culminate during National Board Games Week, which starts on April 25th 2016.
The eventual winner will get a number of board games plus £120 of Pork Farms vouchers.
Kim Burgess, Head of Markets for Addo Food Group, says: “We believe that everyone in the UK should be proud to be British and those little things that make us who we are. Britons love board games and enjoy time spent with our loved ones, so why not celebrate this?”
Board Games Championship heats took place in March, leading to regional Quarter Finals. The Semi-Finals and Grand Final will be held at award-winning Micropub the ‘One Inn the Wood’ in Orpington, Kent.
Micropub Association co-founder Stu Hirst adds: “Lively conversation and banter are at the heart of a great pub and we are absolutely delighted to be part of this exciting national initiative. We are looking forward to the cut and thrust of the national board game championships and we will be sorely disappointed if our regulars didn’t spill more than a pint or two of good ale over the spin of a dice or the drop of a counter.”
The campaign is just one of a number of marketing initiatives for the Addo Food Group over the coming year.
