Mondelez International is launching an on-pack promotion for its Maynards Bassetts range which gives consumers the chance to win a ‘bonkers day out’, including a trip to the Wacky Sheep Race event in New Zealand.
Three people will win a pair of flights to New Zealand, £2,000 spending money and tickets to the Wacky Sheep Race. 100 other consumers will win tickets to a ‘bonkers day out’ in the UK or Ireland, including the World Pea Shooting Championships in Witcham and rabbit show jumping in Bradford, along with travel and £50 spending money. Another 1000 consumers can win vouchers for a complimentary candy bag from the Maynards Bassetts range.
The promotion will run on Maynards Bassetts Tangy Wine Gums, Wine Gums, Jelly Babies, Sports Mix, Liquorice Allsorts, Jelly Babies Berry Mix, Midget Gems, Bertie’s Jelly Mix, Juicy Chews, Liquorice Allsorts and Jelly Babies. The promotion will run from May 1 until August 31.
Mondelez is also giving retailers a chance to win £100 in Love2Shop vouchers with its ‘Bonkers Display’ competition. To enter the prize draw, retailers simply upload a photo of their Maynards Bassetts promotional bags display between May 15 and July 31. There will be six winners.
To help boost awareness, Maynards Bassetts will be supported with £6 million marketing budget in 2017, which will include TV and high impact in-store activity throughout the summer.

Mondelez merged the Maynards and Bassetts brands into one adult-focused confectionery brand in January 2016.
