This year, Robinsons will support Wimbledon with a £1m marketing campaign, including limited edition merchandise and packs, sampling activity, social media support and a Robinsons pop up café, to drive even further brand exposure throughout The Championships.

With sustainability front of mind, to help reduce the amount of plastic at The Championships, which receives nearly 500,000 attendees and serves close to a million drinks each year, Britvic has introduced new Robinsons personalised reusable drinks bottles. Visitors will be able to purchase the personalised bottle for £7, or just £5 if they return an empty bottle of Refresh’d for recycling to Robinsons’ Play Tennis Café.

Kevin McNair, GB Marketing Director, Britvic says: “Providing consumers with reusable drinks bottles at Wimbledon is part of our ongoing commitment to tackling plastic pollution. We are proud of the fact that all Robinsons PET plastic bottles are fully recyclable in the UK, with 99% of local authorities collecting PET at the kerbside. Plus Robinsons, due to the fact it’s a concentrated drink, uses less plastic per serving compared to many other soft drinks.”

To help fans stay refreshed, Robinsons will also be offering free samples of Refresh’d to consumers in the queue and encouraging visitors to fill their reusable bottles, paper cups or own bottles up for free with their brand-new Fruit Creations range.

Robinsons Squash’d packs have also been given a makeover with a limited-edition Wimbledon pack design.

A supporting social media competition is being run around The Championships, with four pairs of ‘money can’t buy’ VIP tickets and 100 reusable drink bottles prizes given away per week for four weeks, up until July 5th. To be in with a chance of winning, consumers have to create and name a new Fruit Creations flavour.

The Robinsons partnership with Wimbledon, one of the most quintessentially British relationships in history, was born in 1935 when Robinsons’ original Lemon Barley Water was first served at Wimbledon to refresh players during breaks. Since then, Robinsons has sponsored The Championships annually.

From its beginnings as a one flavour brand, Robinsons now has six ranges in its portfolio, having launched Robinsons Fruit Creations earlier this year and Robinsons Refresh’d in 2017, which was named as the No.1 soft drinks NPD launch of 2017.

The Robinsons brand is owned by Britvic.

The new ‘I See Vimto in You’ campaign, which launches during Love Island on June 4th, 2018 and runs throughout the summer, repositions the popular soft drinks brand with its target audience of 15-19 year olds. Nichols says the ad is engaging, disruptive and taps into the teen desire to be themselves in a world of constraints.

Its anti-advertising approach even goes as far as to suggest viewers should close their eyes rather than watch the advert. The new campaign also marks the end of brand representative, the Vimtoad, an animated character created by Aardman and introduced in 2014 to represent the product’s disruptive and anarchic element.

Emma Hunt, Head of Marketing at Nichols, says: “The approach is refreshingly different, just like Vimto. We want the ‘I See Vimto in You’ campaign to be a celebration of individuality and a catalyst for fun, encouraging teens to be themselves and take enjoyment from the everyday – like they do when they drink Vimto.”

Nichols says the campaign shouldhelp Vimto significantly increase its current sales value of £78m, claiming that the brand is in one in five households in the UK and continues to outperform the category, growing at +6.0% YOY.

Hunt adds: “The Vimtoad, who has starred in our campaigns over the past four years, has successfully helped us to deliver the message that Vimto is a multi-fruit soft drink. Under his watch, we’ve seen Vimto rise to its highest levels of brand awareness, but now it’s time to appeal to our core target audience in an innovative and contemporary way.”

The ‘I see Vimto in You’ national multi-media campaign will reach over three million teens across the country. This includes the Vimto brand’s return to TV, with the Love Island launch spot on June 4th. It will also break new ground with its unique personalised advertising across cinema and VOD, as well as experiential sampling, social influencer programme, the Snapchat lens and the partnership with Unilad.

The campaign will include TV sponsorship, a partnership with Sky, print advertising and prize promotions offering the chance to win cricket tickets and cricket merchandise.

The Rules According to Hardys puts the UK’s most trusted wine brand at the heart of family life with a warm and engaging theme about the different rules and quirks around families and the game of cricket.

The Hardys campaign will feature heavily during the cricket season including TV sponsorship of Channel 5 Cricket Highlights, which reaches 10.4m adults, a partnership with SkySports.com and cricket print media advertising. There will be a strong brand presence in England cricket grounds across the UK with perimeter boards, promotional activity and branded bars.

Hardys will be promoted in both the on- and off-trade including gondola ends, summer seasonal aisles and competitions to win cricket tickets and related branded products to drive awareness and purchase at point of purchase.

David White, Marketing Director for Accolade Wines, says: “We have consistently invested in Hardys sponsorship of the England cricket team over the last few years and now established our credentials as a long term supporter of English cricket. We are confident that this new campaign, The Rules According to Hardys, will connect with our consumers by raising a smile at the quirky ways British families interpret the rules and enjoy time together, especially when playing cricket.”

The campaign will extend to Hardys social channels through a partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board to create a series of posts revealing the quirky personal family rules of those that grew up around the game.

The Hardys brand, with retail sales worth in excess of £275m a year, will also front a search to celebrate the unsung heroes of local grassroots crickets, and will be revealing its support for some unusual cricket traditions during the season.

Accolade Wines, which owns the Hardys brand, is a major global wine business based in Australia. It began as Thomas Hardy and Sons, founded in 1853, and now has operations in North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, mainland Europe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. At the beginning of April 2018, US private equity firm The Carlyle Group bought Accolade for Aus $1bn. The sellers were Australian private equity firm Champ, which owned 80% of the business, and US alcohol group Constellation, which owned the remaining 20%.

Accolade’s Echo Falls brand recently signed up as the drinks partner of what is likely to be the summer’s hottest TV show, Love Island 2018, on ITV2, and will be offering the chance to win tickets to the live Love Island final.

Last year’s series of Love Island was one of the biggest programmes of the summer with the final delivering ITV2’s biggest ever viewing figures.

As part of the partnership, Echo Falls will be creating co-branded bottles, and the Love Island logo will also appear on POS, in-store, social, digital and advertising.
The marketing activity kicked off this week in more than 50 countries, with the unveiling of the beer brand’s new global advertising campaign, “Light Up the FIFA World Cup”, featuring drones delivering Budweiser to fans around the world. The TV ad goes live in the UK on May 13th during the football Premier League Final.

Every beer at official 2018 FIFA World Cup stadiums will be served in a Budweiser Red Light Cup. For fans in the UK, the Red Light Cups will be given away at Budweiser viewing parties and events, and in special Budweiser packs in ASDA stores nationwide, as well as being available via on-pack competitions.

In the UK, Budweiser’s “Light Up the FIFA World Cup” will have a significant TV presence through Budweiser’s partnership with ITV, which has exclusive broadcast rights to half of all FIFA World Cup games, including the opening match on June 14th, and England’s final group game against Belgium. Through this, Budweiser will have direct TV ad presence in and around the live games, driving prime brand association with the tournament.

The ad shows thousands of drones carry bottles of the FIFA World Cup tournament’s Official Beer from its brewery in St. Louis, Missouri, where Budweiser has been brewed since 1876. The journey of the drones comes to an end when bottles of Budweiser are delivered directly into the hands of spectators across the globe; the UK’s footage shows football fans celebrating in the local pub, since current UK law bans alcohol from being consumed in stadia.

Brian Perkins, VP Global Marketing at Budweiser, said: “As the most watched sporting event on the planet, the FIFA World Cup is the ultimate opportunity for Budweiser, the world’s most enjoyed beer, to connect with billions of passionate football fans globally. Our campaign is the largest in our company’s history, and it demonstrates how we are bringing together fans from around the world over a beer and their shared passion for football… [it] captures the celebratory, upbeat and premium experience of the Budweiser brand, and fans will continue to see this come to life through our ongoing activations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.”

In the UK, Budweiser will be deploying a Chatbot –named the Bud Bot – to provide the ultimate FIFA World Cup guide for the UK’s football fans, driving meaningful relationships between consumers and Budweiser over the course of the tournament.

The Bud Bot will create a hub for avid football fans, offering a platform to vote for the official Man of the Match and enter once-in-a-lifetime competitions, signposting Budweiser-stocking bars and stores, and offering home deliveries of Budweiser to enjoy while watching games.

As part of celebrating euphoric moments on and off the pitch for the tournament, Budweiser has created the Bud Boat, which will be cruising down London’s River Thames hosting screening parties, DJs, bars and more. Fans are being invited to apply for tickets for the boat.

Budweiser has a strong commitment to football globally, having served as official beer sponsor of the FIFA World Cup for over 25 years. It has an ongoing commitment through the 2018 and 2022 tournaments.

While Budweiser will serve as the official beer of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, Anheuser-Busch InBev will leverage its high-quality portfolio of beers around the world by once again extending local sponsorship rights to its leading brands in select football markets, including, but not limited to, Brahma (Brazil), Harbin (China), Corona (Mexico), Jupiler (Belgium and The Netherlands), Siberian Crown (Russia), Hasseröder (Germany) and Beck’s (Italy), among others.

The Kelly’s of Cornwall Grand Flavour Tour was created to bring a taste of the Cornish Seaside to the rest of the UK, using distinctive Cornish icons.

The activation has been created by i2i Marketing and the stand design was inspired by Kelly’s of Cornwall latest ‘Cornish-speaking’ TV advertisement, which also launches on May 14th. The Kelly’s of Cornwall TV ad was created by award-winning agency, Isobel.

Cream Tea Cone-ish Pasty with Kelly’s Berry Eton Mess ice cream

Spiced Apple & Date Crumble Cone-ish Pasty with new Kelly’s Butterscotch Pecan ice cream

Red Velvet Cone-ish Pasty with Kelly’s Clotted Cream ice cream

The unique Cone-ish pasties have been developed by James Strawbridge in association with Wild West PR.

The Kelly’s of Cornwall Grand Flavour Tour will then be travelling around the UK to share its uniquely Cornish Ice Cream at 36 supermarket locations over six weeks. Visitors will be able to sample the Kelly’s take-home flavour range with a variety of toppings and will be invited to vote for their favourite flavour via digital touch screens on the stand, with a chance to win a beach-side “Flavour of Cornwall” weekend break.

The results of the vote will be shown every week on the Kelly’s Facebook page, along with upcoming roadshow locations, with the nation’s favourite flavour announced at the end of the tour.

The on-pack activity will be supported by a £5m Through-the-Line ‘Made to Move’ campaign to inspire consumers to be more active over the summer. Fronted by Lucozade Sport brand ambassadors, boxer Anthony Joshua and footballer Harry Kane (pictured), a combination of TV, proximity, digital and social activity will show the nation that no-one ever moved forwards standing still. The campaign will culminate at point of purchase with bespoke ‘Made to Move’ POS, developed to maximise the opportunity in-store and encourage purchase of the special packs.

To enter the competition, consumers have have an iPhone with Apple Health Kit installed, a smartphone with Google Fit installed; or a smartphone and a FitBit device. They then need to download the Lucozade ‘Made to Move‘ app and sign up for an account. They can then log eligible exercise activities (either walking, running, cycling or swimming), which translate into ‘Exercise Contributions’. Every day they complete an Exercise Contribution entitles them to be entered into that day’s prize draw. If consumers achieve three Exercise Contributions on separate days during a week, then they can enter the weekly draw.

Prizes for daily draws include Fitbit Charge 2 devices, Lucozade Sport drink bottles, vouchers for 500ml bottles of Lucozade Sport, pairs of Tough Mudder tickets, PureGym passes, and Goals sessions. There will be a maximum of 50 daily prizes awarded.

Every week, one entrant will win a bigger prize, which may be a Fitbit Ionic, a trip for two to the British Grand Prix, a trip to Paris to watch the finish of the Tour De France, holidays for two in San Francisco, New York, Florence or Dubai, or fitness weekends in the Peak District.

Lucy Grogut, Lucozade Sport Brand Director at Lucozade Ribena Suntory (LRS), says, “With the biggest event in the football calendar just around the corner, our new limited-edition packs will allow retailers to capitalise on the increased interest in sports drinks this summer. We know Lucozade Sport sales spike by up to 12% during sporting tournaments, so this presents a huge opportunity for our customers. We’ve got 20,000 prizes up for grabs – that’s 100 per day – so we know shoppers are going to be incentivised to pick up even more Lucozade Sport this summer season.”

The on-pack competition will run on all major pack variants from April 23rd until October, with the latest phase of Lucozade Sport’s ‘Made to Move’ ATL campaign kicking off on June 4th. Consumers can enter via the app for the chance to win prizes including Fitbits and holidays for two.

Lucozade ran a similar promotion under the same name a year ago.

Lucozade Ribena Suntory is one of the leading soft drinks businesses in the UK and Ireland. LRS was formed in 2014 and is part of Suntory Beverage & Food Europe. Its soft drinks brands include Lucozade Energy, Lucozade Sport, Fitwater, Ribena, Orangina and True Nopal cactus water.

An adaption of the classic football fan tradition of “sweepstakes”, the unique promotion will run across 11 brands in singles, multipack and pouch packs. There will be 100 million promotional packs in the market from the 23rd of April in the lead up to and during the football this summer.

Mars Wrigley is not an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup, taking place in Russia this summer, which is why there are no overt references to the tournament, just generic football references; but the confectionery giant is obviously hoping to benefit from increased consumption of its products by fans watching the matches on TV. Mars Wrigley suggests that 80% of UK football fans will watch the games at home.

Every promotional pack purchased gives consumers entry to The Sweetstake and there will be over 700 different The Sweetstake gameplay scenarios available across the promotion. Shoppers will need to enter the unique codes found inside the packs onto a microsite to see if they have won a prize, if their gameplay scenario occurs.

Each pack carries a 1 in 7.7 chance of winning prizes, which include cash prizes of £5, £20, £500 and £10,000, and also free products which are redeemable by coupons, driving shoppers back in store. Every entrant will also be added to a £10,000 super draw to be held at the end of the promotional period (16th July).

Promotional packs will all carry a visible flash, with a WIN beacon consistent across all of them. On top of this, the Mars brand is the official chocolate partner of the Men’s England Football Team, and Point Of Sale displays will be available featuring three famous players to capitalise on the nations support: Dele Ali, Marcus Rashford and Jamie Vardy.

Mars Wrigley Confectionery UK will also drive awareness of the promotion with a £1.2 million media spend, including a TV commercial featuring England players Marcus Rashford, Jamie Vardy and Jordan Henderson.
