<p>Nestlé is believed to have invented the first white chocolate when, in 1936, while working on vitamin-enriched condensed milk, workers added cocoa butter to make a solid tablet form of the milk. In doing so, white chocolate was created!</p>
<p><strong><em>Munchies</em></strong><strong> Brand Manager Cat Mews said:</strong> “<em>Munchies</em> has been a popular brand for over 60 years, but we know that consumers love an on-trend twist to a classic too.</p>
<p>“Fans couldn’t wait to try <em>Munchies</em> Chocolate Fudge Brownie and <em>Munchies</em> Cookie Dough when they launched last year, and we are sure that white chocolate <em>Munchies</em> will prove just as popular an addition to the range.”</p>
<p><em>Munchies</em> are made at Nestlé’s Fawdon factory, near Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, which also makes many other well-loved brands, including <em>Fruit Pastilles</em>, <em>Fruit Gums,</em> <em>Breakaway</em>, <em>Caramac</em>, <em>Matchmakers,</em> <em>Rolo</em>, <em>Toffee Crisp </em>and <em>Smarties Buttons</em>.</p>
<p>White chocolate <em>Munchies</em> will be available exclusively in Asda from 13 August.</p>
<p><em>Munchies</em> have been produced in a variety of flavours over the years, including chocolate orange, hazelnut, banoffee and mint. They contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.</p>

<p>The vibrant redesign takes its cue from the famous multi-coloured foils and twist wraps of the classic Quality Street assortment and features an explosion of colour adorning the traditional purple background.</p>
<p>Then, once the lid is off, Quality Street lovers will find a delicious new sweet in the selection; the limited edition Chocolate Caramel Brownie.</p>
<p>Quality Street, at 83 years old, was the number one Christmas confectionery brand for 2018 and its popularity shows no sign of waning as the brand gears up for a new season. The Quality Street range has also been given a revamp and shoppers have a number of options including a wide ranging choice of sizes and formats on sale in the run up to Christmas.</p>
<p>There is a 650g tub and a 1kg tin available across most major retailers while a special 800g gold tin is exclusively available at Tesco and 2kg tins are being stocked by Costco.<br />
But it doesn’t stop there. Faced with feedback that the chocolate sweets are more popular than their toffee based counterparts, the Quality Street team has switched up the ratios in each assortment so that the mix of chocolate sweets has gone from 35% to 46%.</p>
<p><strong>Ellie Worley, Senior Brand Manager for Quality Street,</strong> said: “2019 is a huge year for Quality Street. We’ve got a new sweet, a new design and we are developing the brand in all areas ahead of the Christmas season. I know just how much people love Quality Street and we work really hard to find that balance between keeping things fresh but also familiar. We’ve been listening and I think we’ve got the perfect mix this year and made the changes that people have told us they’d like to see.”</p>
<p>One of the great traditions of Quality Street is the colourful and shiny twist wrappers that cover each sweet in the assortment. This year, Nestlé has invested in new technology at its Halifax factory in West Yorkshire where Quality Street has been made ever since its launch in 1936. The new technology wraps Quality Street sweets in a more advanced and modern way without the need to move away from the classic twist wraps that people know and love.</p>
<p>The Quality Street range for 2019 also features some exciting products away from the traditional tins and tubs. The Giant Strawberry Crème and Giant Purple One both return for another year and are joined by a Giant Chocolate Caramel Brownie, packed only with Quality Street’s new limited edition sweet and exclusive to Asda.</p>
<p>Elsewhere, there is a Quality Street advent calendar for the Christmas countdown, a 450g refill pouch and 240g cartons of the main assortment, just the fruit cremes or just the toffees and fudges.</p>
<p>The 2019 launch is being backed by a £2m marketing campaign and the full range is starting to appear in stores from now with promotions running right up until Christmas itself. There is more exciting Quality Street news to come with more chances for shoppers to get their hands on a personalised Quality Street tin.</p>

<p>The sweets will begin appearing in shops across the UK and Ireland from this week in both sharing bags and single packs. Each selection contains a mix of classic Milkybar white chocolate buttons with a cocoa filling and milk chocolate buttons with a milky filling.</p>
<p>Last year, the world’s first 30% less sugar chocolate bar, Milkybar Wowsomes, became the first under the Milkybar brand to use two different types of chocolate in the same product and now the Milkybar Mix Ups ensures milk and white chocolates mixed up in the Milkybar  range at last.</p>
<p>The new method of creating this combination of chocolatey flavours in a single button has been created by Nestlé’s chocolate experts to meet a very particular demand.</p>
<p>“Milkybar is famously white chocolate so it needed to be something special if we were going to mix things up. We think Milkybar Mix Ups are special, and if they are as popular out there as they have been at Nestlé HQ then we’re sure our fans will absolutely love them!”</p>
<p>Milkybar Mix Ups are being made at Nestlé’s factory in Fawdon, Newcastle which is also the home of Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles, Jelly Tots, Matchmakers, Munchies, Caramac and Rolo. It’s the Rolo, which has helped to make Milkybar Mix Ups possible.</p>
<p>The individual Milkybar Mix Up chocolate buttons are made using a very similar technique to the Rolo and are being produced on the Rolo production line with the same, tried and tested, milk chocolate recipe. Along with Milkybar mini eggs, it is the first Milkybar product that has been made away from its usual home at York.</p>

Nina, who counts Donatella Versace, Russell Brand and Stormzy among her clients, has designed a menu of five delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes, each inspired by the exciting flavour combinations and natural ingredients of the new YES! bars – including fruity blends like lemon, quinoa &amp; chilli as well as nut-based combinations such as dark chocolate, sea salt &amp; almond.</p>
<p>Visitors to the ‘Bar of YES!’ will enjoy an interactive blindfolded tasting experience of Nina’s food, before exploring the stylish surroundings of the pop up which will reflect the vibrant and wholesome philosophy behind the range. There will also be YES! bars available to taste, with samples offered to guests on departure.</p>

<p>The #myfabland roadshow will be at Bernie Spain Gardens, a green space between Gabriel’s Wharf and the OXO Tower on the London South Bank, from 12.00pm – 6.00pm on July 7 2018 with a free event for families. Children will be able to experience exploding confetti sprinkles geysers, huge Fab lolly mazes, ball pit moats, supersized slides and more fab fun.</p>
<p>Alongside the #myfabland tour, there is also a competition running on Facebook offering a family of four the chance to win a VIP package to the Bristol Balloon Fiesta.</p>
<p>The #myfabland experience has been designed and managed by <a href="http://www.i2i-marketing.co.uk/">i2i Marketing</a>.</p>
<p>After opening on the South Bank, #myfabland will be touring across the UK throughout July and August at the following locations:</p>

<p>Families will have the opportunity to get a free kids ticket when buying any promotional pack of Nestlé confectionery products, such as Smarties, Rowntree’s or Milkybar.</p>
<p>All participating packs contain a unique code that can be exchanged for one free child ticket when buying a full priced adult ticket (or two child tickets for the price of one) at hundreds of venues across the UK and Ireland.</p>
<p>Indoor and outdoor adventures on offer include days out to zoos, safaris, museums and castles to activities such as kayaking, canoeing and dry ski slopes.</p>
<p>Lucy Fawcett, Brand Manager, ‘Kids Go Free’ promotion, says: “’Kids Go Free’ is all about motivating families to enjoy time spent together. We know that entertaining children can be a challenge sometimes and we hope that this promotion gives families that inspiration and value for money to enjoy a quality time together as well as making memories. There are hundreds of activities to choose from and we hope that the whole families will find the promotion exciting, fun and even educational.”</p>
<p>The promotion will run for a year from the end of May 2018 until 30<sup>th</sup> April 2019 and will be supported by a digital media campaign, including online advertising and social media.</p>

<p>The promotion, which went live this week, offer consumers the chance to win either a monthly Sky Cinema, Entertainment or Kids pass, or Sky Sports day pass, with 1,000 passes to be won every hour for eight weeks.</p>
<p>The promotion can be entered from 8.00am to midnight every day from May 21<sup>st</sup> to July 15<sup>th</sup>, with 1,000 winning moments each hour. Entries outside these daily start and finish times will not be accepted.</p>
<p>To enter, consumers need to go online to the promotional site – www.nestle-promotions.co.uk/nowtv – and input a code found on the inside of a promotional wrapper. They will then be told instantly if they are a winner; if they are, they will be able to select the pass that they prefer. Consumers who win will be asked for their card details as part of setting up a free subscription; they will have to cancel the subscription or they will be charged once the free period has run out.</p>
<p>In the Republic of Ireland, companies can only run prize draws linked to purchase if they partner with a charity which has a lottery licence; for this promotion, Nestlé<a href="https://www.nestle.co.uk/"> </a>has partnered with Down Syndrome Ireland.</p>
