Ahead of Easter on April 12th, Deliveroo is launching a range of Invisible and customisable Easter Eggs, which will be available from the food delivery platform over Easter weekend in two flavours – chocolate and Cointreau. Customers in London and Manchester will all have the chance to get in on the action (if they can spot it).

The translucent eggs are made from premium grade gelatine and purified water in order to make the egg clear. The chocolate and Cointreau flavourings are produced using a centrifuge, this scientific equipment extracts flavour by spinning materials at high speeds to achieve separation.

In keeping with Easter traditions, each egg comes packaged with three pots of edible decoration and art supplies, so kids and adults alike can get creative.

Joe Groves, at Deliveroo says: “An Easter egg without the guilt and they’re invisible, so no one can keep track on how many you’ve eaten, roll on Easter! There’s one for the kids and one for the big kids, so everyone can be in on the fun this Easter.

These Invisible Eggs are the much-anticipated sequel to last year’s Dragon Eggs, launched to celebrate the final series of Game of Thrones.

The Deliveroo Invisible Eggs are available from Good Friday (April 10th) at £1.95 (chocolate flavour) and £2.15 (Cointreau flavour) in London and Manchester.

This project is delivered by Talker Tailor Trouble Maker.

They are set to be the most sought-after bauble this season as they are scrumptious enough to ‘spruce’ up any tree.

These limited-edition, money-can’t-buy ornaments are not only bang on trend but are also a deliciously realistic addition to ensure your tree is insta-ready. Moulded on their best-selling dishes, each bauble is hand painted and worth £34 and can be yours absolutely free – a Christmas gift from Deliveroo.

These chosen delectable dishes include the crunchy cali roll from YO!, gyoza from Wagamama, the cheesy bites pizza from Pizza Hut, a bucket from KFC filled with finger lickin’ chicken, a stacked burger from GBK, the ‘All Hail the Turkey’ burger from Byron, the Whopper ® from Burger King and the purple basil pesto Genovese from ASK Italian. There will be over 1,000 baubles up for grabs across the UK, for a few lucky people.

To receive a bauble completely free of charge, hungry customers simply need to order through one of the participating restaurants and await to see if they’ve been randomly selected to nab a bauble with their meal.

The baubles are made in clay, moulded in silicone, built in resin and then hand painted to ensure they are as durable and detailed as possible and completely un-‘fir’gettable.

Joe Groves at Deliveroo says, “Christmas isn’t just about pigs in blankets and brussels sprouts and Deliveroo are here to prove it by giving our customers a foodie treat for their tree. We wanted to show off some of the most iconic dishes available from some of our best-loved restaurants, which are likely to get even Santa drooling as he puts your presents under the tree.”

London is to be the first city in the world to experience the new 1,000ft dining experience as Deliveroo takes its deliveries to the skies.

Partnering with Charter-A helicopters to launch ‘Roocopter One’ dining, the first trials will lift-off in August 2019, with plans to go international in the coming months.

Brits will have the chance to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, high tea and dinner 1,000ft in the air, double the height of London’s highest restaurant, Duck & Waffle (574ft).

Departing from Battersea helipad in London, food is ordered before boarding, during a safety briefing, then delivered-to-door prior to take-off as part of a 20-minute experience.

Diners will take-in London’s breath-taking views whilst enjoying take-away food as they fly high above Battersea Power Station, past the Shard and around the O2 before returning to Battersea.

‘Roocopter One’ will feature popular dishes from Deliveroo partners including Wagamama, Chipotle, Bababoom and Joe Public. Deliveroo has invested hundreds of hours from their operations team into the Roocopter concept with hopes to then roll this out globally following a successful trial in the capital.

Deliveroo is also exploring how the Roocopter One could be used as a delivery vehicle in the future, to reach remote rural areas that are not currently served by the core food delivery offering.

Joe Groves, Head of Consumer Comms at Deliveroo, said: “Deliveroo is committed to delivering the best food no matter your location, whether a local park, office, at home in your garden or 1000ft in the air.”

Customers should look up for Roocopter One 9th August in London as it takes to the sky. Those who spot the Roocoper and take a snap with the hashtag, #Roocopter, are in the chance to win £10 Deliveroo credit*.

Available exclusively for delivery on Deliveroo from 8th April, the Samajhi is a modern-day mash-up of a classic that has remained unchanged since the 14th century.

The Samhaji, is a delicate blend between a samosa and an onion bhaji that was put into development after data revealed the samosa and onion bhaji occupied the top two positions on the UK’s most loved appetisers.

UK’s Top 10 most ordered appetisers:

Samosa

Onion Bahji

Garlic Bread

Spring Rolls

Calamari

Chicken Wings

Bruschetta

Aranchini Balls

Nachos

Chicken Satay

The triangle-shaped treat originated from the Middle East and has evolved into the snack we all know today. This collaboration will bring the dish up to date with this fusion made with Indian ingredients and spices such as, crispy onions, chilli, turmeric, and lamb all parcelled in a classic samosa pastry. Rola Wala will be producing a vegan version, using their famous Red Dal – a spice-fuelled favourite loaded with lentils, beetroot, and a secret seven spice masala.

Brits have long embraced Indian cuisine, in fact there has been a recent surge of Indian restaurants on Deliveroo with cities such as Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham having the most orders from Indian restaurants.

It’s not the first time Brits have adapted an Indian favourite; the Balti was famously invented in 1960’s Birmingham and the Tikka Masala is believed to have Glaswegian origins.

The dish will be available for £1 with any meal during National Samosa Week via Rola Wala exclusively on Deliveroo before the recipe will be shared on the Deliveroo blog making it completely “open-sauce”.

The updated, unique Samhaji adaption is trademarked exclusively for Deliveroo customers and is adapted for everyone to enjoy. The samahji will be available exclusively from London restaurant Rola Wala on Deliveroo for one week only.

Mark Wright, Co-Founder of Rola Wala, said: “Two classic Indian street foods smashed together – the end result is a samosa that’s delicious and light, and the spicing just right! We’re teaming it up with our Bombay Chutney dip with every meal sold on Delivery this week.”

Joe Groves, Head of Consumers Comms at Deliveroo, said: “The appetisers are arguably the best part of an Indian takeaway and very clearly a firm favourite for our customers across the UK. So, what better than an infusion of Britain’s two favourite Indian appetisers”.

The four metre high, six metre wide structure was erected as part of the brand’s Eat More Amazing campaign, and follows Deliveroo’s announcement in December that burgers are the UK’s favourite takeaway meal. The double decker bus-sized billboard was constructed using thousands of burgers from some of Deliveroo’s most popular burger restaurant partners, including GBK, Byron, Bleecker Burger, Polo, and Beer + Burger. Vegetarian and chicken options were also available.

The activation was created and managed by PR agency Hope&Glory, working alongside creative production agency We Make Stuff Happen.

The burger billboard was open to the public from 12.00pm to 7.00pm (or while stocks lasted) on March 13th at Ely’s Yard Street Food UK Ltd in The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane in East London.

Emily Kraftman, Deliveroo’s Head of Marketing for UK and Ireland, says, “We know that the UK loves burgers as it’s one of the most popular dishes ordered on Deliveroo. That’s why we decided to celebrate this upcoming milestone delivery and remind people that every meal is a chance to eat more amazing.”

Deliveroo is an award-winning delivery service founded in 2013 by William Shu and Greg Orlowski. Deliveroo works with over 35,000 restaurants and over 30,000 delivery riders to provide food delivery services in over 200 cities across 12 countries, including Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
