The exclusive series of private views, curator-led tours, panel discussions and masterclasses will celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in the art world.

Bazaar Art Week will take place at multiple locations across central London between 2nd and 9th October, coinciding with Frieze, PAD fair and other highlights of the capital’s art season.

Harper’s Bazaar has a longstanding relationship with the art world; its illustrious past contributors include Chagall, Giacometti and Andy Warhol. More recently, Cindy Sherman, Tracey Emin, Gillian Wearing and Yoko Ono are among the high-profile artists to have collaborated with the magazine.

Bazaar is the first luxury magazine to have launched a programme of events dedicated to art. Bazaar Art Week will connect readers with trailblazers from the art world, including museum directors, artists, curators, gallerists, collectors and entrepreneurs.

This year’s line-up of events includes:

Sotheby’s xBazaar: a champagne lunch and barge trip to Frieze Masters. Cruising along the Regent’s Canal, guests will hear from an expert panel, including Frances Christie, the head of Modern & Post-War British Art at Sotheby’s, Chloe Stead, a deputy director from the auction house’s Old Master department, and Katy Hessel, a curator, art historian and founder of the Instagram account @thegreatwomenartists. The speakers will share advice on the women artists to look out for at Frieze Masters, tickets for which are included in the package.

Luchita Hurtado: a curator’s tour at the Serpentine. Guests will attend a private view and guided tour of the first UK solo show of the trailblazing Venezuela-born, California-based artist Luchita Hurtado.

London Drawing Group masterclass at the Henrietta Hotel. This tutored session, led by the London Drawing Group (a collective of three contemporary female artists) will take inspiration from the work of the artist Judy Chicago’s monumental installationThe Dinner Party.

‘The future of art is female’: a panel discussion. Held over breakfast at the Punch Room at The London Edition, Harper’s Bazaar will host a lively panel talk on why women are spearheading art as a force for social progress. Speakers include the multimedia artist Charlotte Colbert, the Heist Gallery founder Mashael Al Rushaid and the MTArt Agency founder Marine Tanguy.

‘Into the Night’: a curator’s tour at the Barbican. Guests will be among the first to see the Barbican’s blockbuster autumn exhibition, ‘Into the Night: Cabarets & Clubs in Modern Art’, an immersive journey through the electrifying history of cabarets, cafes and clubs around the world. The curator Florence Ostende will lead a tour highlighting the female artists and performers featured in the show.

Young Masters Art Prize exhibition: a private view and panel talk.Bazaarwill host a private view of the 10th-anniversary edition of the Young Masters Art Prize exhibition, held in the Royal Arcade in St James’s. Guests will hear from past prizewinners, including Lucille Lewin, the former founder and director of Whistles, who left fashion to pursue a career in sculpture.

Bazaar Art Week will bring to life the pages of Bazaar Art magazine, a standalone publication dedicated to women in the art world that is distributed with Bazaar’s November issue. The special issue, on sale from October, will have a series of collectors’-edition covers showcasing artworks by some of today’s foremost female artists.

Bazaar Art Week is sponsored by Ruinart, the oldest established Champagne house.

Justine Picardie, the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar UK, said: ‘We are proud to celebrate our long heritage in the art world by inviting our readers to take part in an inspiring series of events held at some of London’s leading cultural institutions, in collaboration with an array of talented creative women.’

Tickets will be available to purchase here

Land Rover has started its countdown to the world premiere of the new Range Rover Evoque with a fleet of wire form sculptures inspired by the new model. The full-scale artworks stopped pedestrians in their tracks at locations across London.

Land Rover pioneered the luxury compact SUV sector with the original Range Rover Evoque in 2010, with the next generation of the award-winning model promising to make a similar impact, introducing new standards of design, capability and sustainability.

The brightly-coloured installations were produced by the same Land Rover Design team responsible for shaping the new Evoque and embody the reductive design philosophy that has informed its elegant proportions. Blending simple lines with modernity, the 1:1 scale wire forms showcase the distinctive fast roofline and rising waistline that define new Evoque’s coupe-like silhouette.

Four of the eye-catching sculptures were parked at exclusive addresses around Kensington and Chelsea, finished in distinctive shades of copper, red and blue.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Chief Design Officer, commented: “The wire forms have been created to preview the new Evoque – which is the embodiment of Range Rover’s modernist design approach. Where better to put these bespoke installations on display than in the heart of London – one of the greatest cities in the world.”
