VCCP Blue launches new npower campaign

npower has launched a brand new advertising campaign to highlight their fixed price offering.

The new Winter Fix tariff allows customers to fix their energy prices for the next two winters, between now and the 31st of March 2013.

The new 30 second TV advert features Bob and Penny, two npower ‘claymation’ characters, who are working hard to fix down giant inflatable letters spelling out the words ‘Energy Prices’.

Bob and Penny secure the letters down on top of a grassy hill using ropes, wooden pegs and hammers. With the help of a friendly, but clumsy, animated duck they manage to fix down ‘Energy Prices’ before retiring to their deck chairs for a well deserved cup of tea.

The concept, which was developed by VCCP Blue, was brought to life by Aardman Animations, the award winning stop-motion animation company and creators of ‘Wallace and Gromit’, and feature films such as ‘Chicken Run’. Creative director for Wallace and Gromit at Aardman, Merlin Crossingham directed the TVC.

The TV campaign is being supported by press, outdoor, digital and radio. The characters of Bob, Penny and the Duck have been carried through the line, and the press and digital ads feature an image captured from the TVC of Bob, Penny and the Duck fixing down the giant inflatable letters spelling out ‘Energy Prices’.
