Virgin Radio is running a new promotion, Free Fuel Monday, to fill up listeners’ cars with a tank of petrol or diesel in direct response to rising fuel prices.
In a similar format to its previous promotion, Pay Your Bills, it will see DJ Christian O’Connell (pictured) buy his Breakfast Show listeners a tank of petrol or diesel every hour on a Monday morning.
Listeners enter the prize draw by logging their details at a dedicated Free Fuel Monday page on the newly revamped website, www.virginradio.co.uk. Every hour, O’Connell picks a driver who wins up to £100 in fuel if they call in within 30 minutes of hearing their name.
David Lloyd, Virgin Radio’s programme and marketing director, said: “Pay Your Bills is one of our most successful promotions ever and we wanted to replicate its success by giving our listeners the chance to win something that is totally relevant to their lives.”
Launched last week, it temporarily become Free Fuel Tuesday this week because of the bank holiday. It is running until June 2.
With Pay Your Bills, listeners submitted details of which monthly bill they would most like to be paid off and why, and then listened for their name to be read out. If the bill was £200 or less, they were also automatically entered into a daily online prize draw for another chance to get their bill paid.
