Mars launches bitesize DVD promotion

Mars is hoping to drive sales of its Bitesize portfolio with its biggest ever on-pack promotion, offering consumers a one in 10 chance of winning a Warner Bros DVD.

The DVD promotion will run across 19 Mars products including Maltesers, White Chocolate Maltesers, Galaxy Minstrels, Revels, M&M’s Peanut, M&M’s Crispy, M&M’s Chocolate and Mars Planets, including singles, pouch and large pouch.

An on-pack message will direct consumers to a dedicated website (www. 1in10wins.co.uk) where they input a unique code from the pack to find out if they have won.

The promotion will be supported with a £1 million marketing spend across TV and radio plus bespoke POS.

Bep Sandhu, Mars trade relations manager, says: “More people are choosing to stay at home in the evenings, meaning they will be looking for more in-home entertainment. The “1 in 10 chance to win a DVD” promotion gives Mars a great opportunity to engage with consumers with an offer they can enjoy with family and friends from the sofa.”

The deal was set up by promotions agency Lime, which has a strong track record of working with film properties.
