Captain Morgan’s Spiced TV campaign and tankard promo

Captain Morgan’s Spiced, the UK’s leading golden rum based spirit drink, is running the second wave of its £3m national TV advertising campaign, along with a promotion to win a free Captain Morgan’s tankard.

A TV commercial, ‘Gone’, which first aired in August 2012, is now being re-run until the end of March. The ad tells the story of four friends who go to great lengths to enjoy their favourite serve of Captain Morgan’s Spiced and cola.

The final frame ends with the group adopting a ‘Captain-like’ stance, over which an image of Captain Morgan appears, followed by the end frame tagline, ‘Got what it takes to live like the Captain?’

The campaign is being supported with targeted promotional activity in the UK off trade, which gives consumers the chance to win a free Captain’s tankard with every bottle. This promotion has been run before, but brand owner Diageo says it has been brought back thanks to popular demand.

To see if they have won a tankard, consumers have to go to the brand’s Facebook page, find the link to the promotional page and Like it. They can then input the code from their Captain Morgan’s Spiced rum bottle.

There are 25,000 tankards to be won.
