Sainsbury’s launches ‘Collect more, fly more’ with Nectar
Called ‘Collect more, fly more’ the new promotion will refund Nectar cardholders 10% of the total points they spend on easyJet flights booked through www.nectar.com.
In order to qualify for the rebate, collectors must have shopped and swiped their Nectar card at Sainsbury’s within 12 weeks of making the redemption and opted into the promotion via the Nectar website.
In addition to the rebate, consumers will also receive a coupon for double points on their next Sainsbury’s shop and be entered into a monthly prize draw to win £200 worth of Nectar points.
The roll out of the promotion will be supported by a month long TV advertising campaign beginning on the 13th February along with a two week ‘milk media’ presence on Sainsbury’s milk bottles from the 15th February.
The advertising will be supported by customer emails, Nectar statement inserts, in-store merchandise and social media.
Andrew Mann, Sainsbury’s director of customer insight, says: “Since we launched our partnership with easyJet, feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive so we are delighted to offer them something extra. This Nectar points incentive will allow our customers to continue to earn points, even as they spend them, and provide them with even more benefits.”
James Frost, marketing director at Nectar, adds: “We’re always looking for new ways to give more back to our collectors and ‘Collect more, fly more’ does just this. We know our collectors love our partnership with easyJet. Since we launched with them last year we have flown more than 220 planeloads of Nectar collectors on easyJet flights.”
To benefit Sainsbury’s customers can join the ‘Collect more, fly more’ promotion online at www.nectar.com/collectmoreflymore.
Nectar points can be used to cover all costs associated with the flight, including taxes, admin and credit card fee, speedy boarding, luggage and any sports equipment.
Nectar cardholders can pay for their flight in full using Nectar points, or use a combination of points and cash to complete the transaction. Nectar points can be exchanged for any easyJet flights to over 550 destinations in 30 countries with no restrictions or time limits.
