Nectar offers points for viewing ads

Nectar has teamed up with Adpoints to conduct a three-month trial to reward collectors for viewing ads online.

This follows on from other successful initiatives Nectar has run where it has given points to collectors who have watched movie trailers online.

The trial is designed to reward Nectar collectors for watching video advertising. The trial website will enable collectors to view hundreds of advertisers’ videos and to answer questions about their brand preferences and habits and to visit the advertisers’ sites. All interactions are rewarded with Nectar points.

Nectar will cap the trial at around 7,500 collectors. All other interested collectors will be invited to join the rollout of Adpoints later in 2012.

Collectors can earn a total of 2,500 points during the trial period which runs through to 23 February 2012. A further 1,000 bonus points will be issued to thank them for their registration and participation.

Nectar will be focusing on analysing viewing behaviours during the trial. It may ultimately be possible to connect ad viewing with purchase behaviours but this is not the purpose of this trial.
