Wax Wishlist Christmas campaign for Currys and PC World

In the lead up to Christmas, Currys and PC World are working with Wax Communications to give away The Gadget Show’s ultimate wish list.

The integrated campaign features 11 weekly prize draws for the wish list worth £10,000 each, plus, every day until Christmas, customers have the opportunity to win a £1,000 Currys & PC World gift card.

Wax Communications developed the campaign, with sister agency Wax Live responsible for implementing and launching the store events, liaising with the Gadget Show, dressing the stores and running in-store activity.

Amanda Clift, head of marketing at Dixons Retail, says: “We’re delighted to be offering all our customers the chance to win £10,000 worth of the latest gadgets and technology, chosen by us and The Gadget Show. Wax has devised a campaign for us that enters into the festive spirit and encourages people to find out about the range of technology we have available.”

The promotion is being launched at four store events which will take place during November with Jon Bentley, from the Gadget Show talking about the latest ‘must have’ gadgets this Christmas. He will also be giving shoppers the opportunity to win more gadgets on the day, through a ’Wish list Dash’ competition.

A key element of the campaign is that the top tech will all be delivered, installed and set up by a KNOWHOW expert in time for Christmas.

In addition to the wish list, Currys and PC World are also giving away a free £10 voucher to early Christmas shoppers to spend on hundreds of selected gifts, from a camera or camcorder to coffee machines, and the latest tablets to TVs.

Matt Tabb, Wax’s managing director, says: “This is the time of year when everyone has a wish list – and our campaign will enable peoples’ wishes to come true. By running the activity online, through social media and in-store we are maximising the impact of the Wishlist campaign encouraging customers to see the best technology that Currys and PC World has to offer.”
