Shreddies is launching a new online campaign searching for the ‘New Face of Shreddies’.
The recruitment campaign will focus around social media, specifically using Facebook and Twitter. A Knitting Nanas Facebook Fan page enables consumers to upload a picture and profile of their Nana or someone they think would be a great recruit for other site users to vote on.
The winning Nana will be featured on the back of the Shreddies pack later this year.
A new TV ad will support the campaign and five million packs will appear on shelf with message “We Need You”.
The 10 second TV ad, created by McCann London, will air nationally from the end of April 2010, tagged on the back of the Shreddies current TV ad.
Craig Turner, Shreddies senior brand manager says: “This activity truly engages with our consumers, providing a very personal interaction as they upload and vote for their favourite nana. Things may get quite competitive as some of the uploaded nanas have even better election campaigns than our political parties.”
