Crabtree & Evelyn, the high street health food and natural remedy store, is launching a stored-value gift card in the UK, after a successful introduction in the US.

The gift cards will replace the retailer’s existing paper vouchers. The plastic used is environmentally-friendly and recyclable, with a far lower ‘cradle to grave’ carbon footprint than most other plastics.

Bretton Essex-Evans, marketing manager for Crabtree & Evelyn, says “We plan to launch the Gift Card in other countries including France, Dubai and South Africa in the near future.”

The prepaid and account card solutions for Crabtree & Evelyn are provided by G-T-P, which also supplies card services to PC World Business and Pilkington, as well as a number of prepaid programmes including the Empire Cinemas Film Card and UK gift cards for Love2travel, PizzaExpress and Virgin Experience Days.

Crabtree & Evelyn’s cards will be available to purchase across the company’s 41 stores nationwide and also online at www.crabtree-evelyn.co.uk. Customers will only be able to use the cards to buy products in Crabtree & Evelyn high street stores initially; web purchases and corporate sales are planned for the future.
