New exhilaration site lets users generate content

Tue 6th Oct 2009

Acorne is looking to harness the power of social networking to promote its exhilaration experience packages, as part of a complete website relaunch.

The company has broken with the traditional catalogue format and has instead opted for an interactive user experience, with consumers invited to rate experiences, blog about them and share their comments, thoughts and other content including pictures with friends.

The new site lets users upload photographs, add personalised gift and thank you messages and interact with friends via online games, challenges and dream lists.

The new web site is also being used to launch exhilaration’s new brand image and philosophy, which encourages people to “experience life.” Customers can check out the full range of gift experiences and special offers, divided into categories for easy navigation. These include drive, fly, pamper, adrenaline, discover, culture, splash, gourmet, kids, historic buildings and unusual gifts.

Acorne PLC acquired exhilaration from lastminute.com in 2008. Acorne also organises and sells Virgin Experience Days, Virgin Vouchers and Leisure Vouchers.
