Virgin Experience Days partner with Jimmy's Farm

Virgin Experience Days have formed a partnership with Jimmy’s Farm to offer farming experience masterclasses.

Jimmy’s Farm was made famous by the BBC TV series that followed Jimmy as he established the rare breeds farm in Suffolk.

Jimmy has now joined forces with Virgin Experience Days to share the basic principles of farm life with a series of farming experience masterclasses based on the farm.

Novice farmers can choose from a Piggy Masterclass, Woolly Jumpers Flock Management and The Art of Chicken Keeping to Grass Guru and The Good Life, as well as learning how to make money from their wares with a tailor-made course called just that – “Making Money from your Wares”.

The courses are designed and run by farm manager Dave Finkle, who starred on BBC2s A Farmers Life for Me and the Fern Britton Show on Channel 4.

The farm is open all year round and visitors may meet the stars of the hit TV programme in addition to having the opportunity to witness the working farm in action, visit the nature trail, woodland walks and browse in the farm shop and butchery.

Talking about the master classes, Jimmy Doherty, says:
“Money is tight in the UK right now and there’s been a huge surge in interest in going back to basics, whether that means keeping a few chickens, growing vegetables or being completely self sufficient.

“These courses have been designed to provide all the information and skills necessary to get the most from your resources, whether you are considering life as a farmer, want to create a cottage industry or simply to get the most from your livestock, land or garden.”
