Changes at top as Grass Roots grows

The Grass Roots Group has made top management changes as it continues its expansion into a global provider of motivation solutions and incentives.
Stephen Humphreys (pictured), managing director of UK marketing and motivation company Projectlink Motivation, is taking on the enhanced role of president of Grass Roots America.
This follows the group’s acquisition of a controlling interest in Miami-based Bit-time Inc in 2006. Humphreys will head operations in the USA, Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia.
Group chairman David Evans said: “This is a new challenge for Stephen and a just reward for the tremendous job he has done in growing Projectlink Motivation. The role will involve Stephen spending significant time in the Americas where he will focus on the development and modernisation of our activities in this region.”
Grass Roots has also completed the opening of Grass Roots Australia in Melbourne, headed by Matt Seadon, and Grass Roots China in Beijing, headed by Paul Scarpignato.
Both report to Steve Hibberd, who set up Grass Roots’ Singapore office in spring 2007 and also oversees Grass Roots India in Delhi. He was formerly the founder and managing director of Melbourne-based motivation company Accumulate.
“A huge amount of work has gone in to bringing this part of our plan to fruition and I’ve every confidence that we will make great progress in this part of the world, under the direction of Steve Hibberd,” Evans commented.
“Bejing is clearly a high-profile city at the moment, but more importantly being able to deliver in China offers considerable added value to many of our clients.”
Peter Borg-Neal, who joined Grass Roots Group in January 2007 and became international operations director, has now left the business. He was previously in the pub and restaurant industry at Allied Domecq, Whitbread and Forno Vivo.
