The British Red Cross is asking people get on their bikes and raise vital funds for vulnerable people in crisis.
The Big Red Ride is back for 2010, will take place on Sunday 25 July and this year there is a choice of two routes.
In celebration of the Big Red Ride, there is an online prize draw, sponsored by Specialized and The Tristore, to win a brand new Specialized Secteur Elite 2010 bike, worth £1000.
The challenge can be started from Blackheath Common, London, pedalling 80 miles through the countryside or alternatively start the cycle from Tunbridge Wells for a 45-mile route. Both routes will finish on Eastbourne’s seafront.
Olympic champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton started last year’s event and is encouraging more people to take up the challenge this year. Victoria, who won gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, says: "Join the Big Red Ride and support the British Red Cross to help people in crisis. You don't need to be an Olympic champion to take part, this year you can cycle 80 miles or choose to start the race in Tunbridge Wells and cycle for a more manageable 45. Whatever distance you decide to do you will be making a difference and helping people in crisis in the UK and overseas."
Register online today to be part of the action. Each rider is required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £25 to secure their place and asked to raise at least £150 money for the British Red Cross.
