SPAR and NSPCC launch ‘Stop 4 Tea’

Wed 5th May 2010
Tates Limited, the UK’s largest independent convenience store retailer with over 200 SPAR stores in England and North Wales, has partnered with children’s charity NSPCC to launch a new fundraising campaign, ‘Stop 4 Tea’.

For a small donation, customers can ‘Stop 4 Tea’ in SPAR stores, from 1 to 31 May 2010, and enjoy a cup of tea while browsing the special offers aisles.

SPAR has partnered with NSPCC since 2006, and this is the first time they have run the ‘Stop 4 Tea’ campaign which they hope will take the total raised by previous in-store fundraising activities to over £2 million by the end of May.

Geoff Hallam, managing director of Tates Limited, and Paul Amadi, NSPCC director of fundraising, brewed the first cup at SPAR Queensway, London at the end of April 2010.

NSPCC account manager, Kirsty Lawson says: “The NSPCC is calling on its supporters, SPAR staff and their customers to ‘Stop 4 Tea’ at a store and push us past the £2 million mark.”
