Pilsner Urquell brings The Open to the on-trade

Fri 1st May 2009
Pilsner Urquell is celebrating its first year as the official beer of The Open Championship by hosting its very own ‘19th Hole’ outdoor golfing event at a range of locations in London and surrounding regions.

Consumers who visit the 19th Hole events will be invited to take part in a range of activities with the chance of winning a VIP trip for two to The Open in Turnberry from 16th to 19th July.

There will be a virtual golf simulator, a putting green and a Clubhouse where players will be able to sample the Czech beer.

The first ‘19th Hole’ event takes place in the Duke on the Green pub in Parson’s Green, West London, from 30th to 31st May. Pilsner Urquell will collaborate with landlords Young’s to promote and drive footfall to the event, including tactical activity at another nearby Young’s pub, The White Horse.

The second 19th Hole event will be held in Broadgate Arena, from 3rd – 5th June, where Pilsner Urquell will team up with Corney & Barrow.

In addition to the 19th Hole events, bespoke point of sale kits including a putting green, bar runners, beer mats, pub quizzes and sampling opportunities will be available for a number of outlets across the Capital.

The Czech lager will be working with national radio station TalkSPORT to promote the outdoor events, including a live broadcast from the Parsons Green event and a competition giving TalkSPORT listeners the opportunity to win a four-ball at The Open Championship course, Turnberry in September.
