Green Giant high-5's shoppers in augmented reality event
The Green Giant appeared on the big screen at Manchester’s Trafford Centre and encouraged shoppers to “high-5” him.
The activity targeted families and entertained shoppers while raising awareness about Green Giant’s role in maintaining a healthy diet and providing a step towards your 5 a-day.
The augmented reality game is activated when a child or adult stands on footprints in front of the screen. The person then appears on the big screen beside the five metre tall Green Giant who urges the participant to jump and “high-5” him.
Each person gets several attempts to “high-5’ the Giant and there are 3 different levels to complete, each one higher and more difficult to reach than the last.
Participants who successfully “high-5” the Giant on all three levels trigger celebratory sweet corn fireworks.
The activity was also visible to people seated in The Orient Food Court at any one time.
The campaign ran over the weekend of 29th and 30th October. Colin Jackson attended the event on the 29th, enticing shoppers to take their turn at the screen.
The concept for the experiential campaign is supported by localised bus back advertising, 6 sheet and digital 6 sheet poster activity, alongside the launch of the Green Giant UK Facebook profile.
