Durex uses interactive poster sites

Durex is to run a Christmas campaign featuring interactive posters that shout out cheesy chat-up lines when people walk past.

The posters, which have sensors in them to detect movement nearby, will be placed on London streets and in the toilet areas of top London bars. They will wolf-whistle and call out lines including: “I’ve forgotten my phone number – can I have yours?” and “Is that a ladder in your tights – or the stairway to heaven?”

Copy on the posters then continues: “Want a man to make you groan in the right way?” or “Want a man to make you shiver in the right way?”

Each poster will play one of three different chat-up lines, which are on a loop to avoid too much repetition.

The interactive poster campaign will run from November 23 to December 27. There will also be online promotions, including social media and viral activity.

Furthermore, for the first time, Durex is being allowed to advertise on TV from the 9.00pm watershed, rather than being restricted to after 11.00pm. Durex Play products will be advertised on ITV 1, C4, Five and satellite channels.

Finally, there will be in-store promotions in key retailers and online discount codes, both offering consumers discounts on Play products over the Christmas period.

The Durex Play range includes vibrators and lubricants, all of which are available in mainstream retail outlets such as Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, Ann Summers and online at www.durex.co.uk.
