Salestarget.co.uk 'sell the moon' challenge

UK recruitment website Salestarget.co.uk is challenging salespeople to prove that they have the right stuff through an online video pitch and viral campaign, called Sell That!. The best pitch, as voted on by website visitors, will win £2000.
The only catch is, competitors have to choose one of five pre-selected items to sell. The options are: an acre on the moon; a yellow 1987 Ford Capri; an unwanted present; their own colleague; and their own home-town.
Competitors record a short video selling their chosen item, then upload it to www.sell-that.co.uk and encourage their friends and colleagues to visit the site and vote for them.
Salestarget.co.uk, which is part of the Reed Elsevier-owned Totaljobs Group of recruitment sites, specialises in jobs for sales professionals. Marketing manager Hannah Penson says: “Selling is an often-disparaged skill and this campaign is to show that the UK is full of the best sales talent around. We’ve purposefully chosen light-hearted objects so entrants have to sell their item in an imaginative way – the more inventive the sales-technique, the more votes it’ll win.”
