Vouchercloud, the new iPhone app that helps consumers find exclusive discounts in their area and then sends voucher codes to their mobile phones, has reached number one in the lifestyle section of the Apple’s Apps Store, only one week after its launch.

Discounts are available for shops, bars, clubs, takeaways, restaurants and service providers around the country, including Café Rouge, Dominos, Dorothy Perkins, Fitness First, IMAX, Marco Pierre White Restaurant, The Harley Medical Group and Thomas Cook, with new deals being continually added.

The iPhone app uses GPS to find where the mobile owner is and lists the best deals nearest to them in seconds. The screen voucher is then shown to the shop staff to receive the money-off. Users also receive hundreds of discount voucher codes for online shopping.

Over 150,000 consumers have downloaded Vouchercloud, with an estimated 10,000 more downloads every day. It is due to be launched on other smartphones in coming months,
