Online snowball fight to launch scandinavian winter visits

Liquid Communications has developed a knock-out, online snowball fight game with flight ticket giveaway on behalf of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) to encourage travel to Scandinavia to enjoy its winter delights. The game goes live from early December and runs until the end of January.



The SAS snowball fight game appears at a specially-created microsite SAS Winter Fun. Players from across the UK and Ireland will be able to challenge each other in pitched battles with winners progressing to the next level. Players will also have the opportunity to knock out stereotypical Scandinavian characters, including Vikings, mermaids, skiers and reindeers.



Each level of the game will depict one of the many experiences travellers to Scandinavia can enjoy; a visit to the Copenhagen Christmas Markets, a trip to Sweden’s forthcoming world ski-championships, an ‘Arctic experience’ featuring the world famous Ice Hotel, huskies and ice fishing and a New Year celebration in Stockholm.



Every two weeks the player with the highest score will win two tickets to Scandinavia or Finland- courtesy of SAS.



The game will be promoted via a 6-week integrated advertising campaign across press, radio (exclusively via Virgin radio solus spots around breakfast and drivetime) and online media aimed at driving people to the SAS site which hosts the game microsite.
